Payne-Davisson Wedding.
Capt. George W. Payne and Mrs. Nancy Davisson were married just after noon, today, Tuesday, Feb. 4th, 1902, at the residence of the bride’s brother, John F. McColly. The ceremony was performed by Elder D. T. Halstead. It was a surprise wedding entirely, even Mr. McColly not having heard of it until he went home to dinner. Only a few relatives were present, including Mrs. John E. Alter and Geo. E, McColly, of Union 4p., sister and brother of the bride. The Captain is 70 years old and his bride 54. It is his third marriage and her second. They took the 1:45 p. m, train for Monticello, where Mr. Payne owns two good residence properties, and where they will make their future residence.
