The City Council.

Dr. J. W. Horton and others petitioned for an arc light at the crossing of Weston and Cordelia streets. Referred to committee on lights. The salaries of the electric light and waterworks workers were inereased as follows: Chas. Chamberlain, Supt. from S6O to $75 per month; Peter Giver, G. L. Thornton and Conrad Hildebrand, from $45 to SSO per month. The contract with the Standard Oil Company for oil for another year, was ratified. Fire Chief Hopkins reported one new member of the company, namely Fred Parcells, The fire warden’s report ondefeotive flues etc,, was received. Thirteen claims were approved by the committee and allowed.
