Guilty of Assault.

In the case of the State vs Irwin Lewis, charged with rape upon the person of Miss Myrtle Fay, they brought in averdict Wedneday afternoon of guilty of assault, simply, and fixed the penalty at a fine of $1 and costs. The trial lasted over two days, and scores of witnesses were called. The act on which the trial was based took place in Union tp, in September.
