The Congressional Convention.
The tenth district congressional convention met at Monticello at 1:30 p. m. Wednesday, There was quite a large attendance of delegates and others, although it was known that the work of the convention would be simply the renominating of Mr. Crumpacker by acclamation and without opposition, which was done. ■ Judge Wm. Cummings, of Kentland was chairman of the convention and Chas. Robb, of Michigan City News was secretary. Francis] Johnson, of Lafayette, made the nominating speech. Resolutions were adopted endorsing Congressman Crumpacker’s efforts for reducing southern representation and his Battle Ground monument bill. Also boosting all of the 10th district’s candidates for state offices; with the plain intimation that if all the state offices in the state were to come to this district, the demand for offices would still be in excess of the supply. Quite a number of the candidates for state offices were [present, from different parts of the state, and were doing some lively electioneering.
