The Circuit Court.

Judge Lairy rendered his decision in the case of Benton and Cora E. Forsythe, vs the city of Rensselaer, today. In this case the plaintiff complained that his assessment was too high on the street improvement, west of his store, as compared with other property owners. Judge Lairy took $39 off the Forsythe assessment and placed it upon A. Leopold, leaving all other assessments as they were. This reduction, not being 10 per cent, of Mr. Forsythe’s assessment, will throw the costs upon him. Judge Reiter, of Hammond, over-ruled a motion for a new trial, in the Hart case, and an appeal was prayed to the Supreme Court. Judge T. F. Palmer, of Monticello, was here Friday, trying the Makeever partition case, in which the parties interested are the heirs of the late Milton and Nancy Makeever.
