A large crowd of people, numbering quite a good many hundreds assembled at the Rensselaer depot, last Tuesday forenoon, to see Admiral Bohley, as be passed through in President McDoel’s priyate car, attached to the southbound train, due here at 10:55 a. m. The train was some 15 minutes late and therefore stopped no longer than it ordinarily does. The admiral oame out on the rear plat-* form, as soon as the train stopped, and shook hands very affably and industriously, with as many as could reaoh him while the train stopped. Mrs. Schley also came out just as the train started.

Admiral Schley is a very large man, and a fine looker too. In faot better looking and pleasanter looking than his piotures would indicate. He is the pioture of health, and looks mnch younger than his age, which is a little over 62. His wife is also a deoidedly handsome woman.

The publio schools were all dismissed in time for the pupils to get a look at tbe distinguished visitor.
