The City Council.

The City Council, at their session Monday evening, allowed T. J. Sayler & Co. $2,992.47, that being the city’s share for the various street improvements made last year, Another big claim allowed was $1,583, principal and interest on waterworks bonds. A few other small claims were also allowed. JudgeS. P. Thompson presented a petition for a sewer to drain his lots at the earner of Washington and Cullen streets, where his big new block is contemplated. The present street sewers are neither large enough nor deep enough for a good basement. The Judge wishes to carry his sewer across Washington street, on Weston street to the middle of the block, and follbw down the same until it connects with the sewer from Forsythe’s block. Referred to the sewer committee.
