Distinguished Ladies At a Party.

Some 20 ladies, some of them of wide and long renown, enjoyed an afternoon party with Mrs. J. H. Chapman, Tuesday afternoon. Among them was Carrie Nation, in costume and hatchet; Dr. Mary Walker, with her blroming bloomers; Prisoilla, the Puritan maiden, Bridget O’Shaughnesfcy; the Duohess of Marlboro; Armarilla Soglesonger, a new one on ns, bat an old but gay one in costnme; President Roosevelt’s two daughters, Mrs DeJila Sbinnefelt, Mrs. Smythe Cowblossom, Clara Schumann, and various other curious or distinguished ladies. They unbent from their dignity, very gracionsly, and played old games and sang old songs, and in short had a good “old time;” not to forget the good old appetites for the good things served by the hostess, for refreshments.
