Grain in elevators is in transit JU&d ia not snbjeot to local taxation, according to the decision of Jndge Small in the faxons oase of Bartlett, Frazier & Co. against Theodore Gross, township collector, and W. W. Gifford, oonnty treasurer of Will oounty, 111. The decision was based upon the Supreme Court’s opinion. The oase is an im-portant-one, and the result not only affects tbe present complainants, bat also similar dealers in tbe country. An appeal may be taken to the Supreme Court.
