Thurman Smith and family moved to North Judson last week. Earl Newland, who has been visiting in Ohio, returned home Tuesday and will work for Harry Gifford. Doc. Nichols, of Valina, was a visitor here Saturday. Frank Archer has been awarded the contract for carring the mail froth Newland to Blackford beginning 2-’. 1902. Quite a romantic marriage occured here during holidays, which only came to light a few days ago. Miss Nellie Jordan, who is teaching school near here went cn a visit to llluois Xmas and while there went to Chicago and married a young medical student by the name of Iver McCormick. He worked for Harry Gifford a short time' this past summer. One of her sisters who is teaching at Sibley. 111. saw lhe
license in the Chicago papers, which gave the whole thing away. > Callahan & Dunfee are building a house here for B. J. Gifford. Earl Hewitt, of Medary«vi|le, is working for Gep. Buck, building a corn crib here. A. E Abersoll was at Rensselaer on business Saturday. The lumber is here for three more new houses to be built at once. Dennis Qa?to was at the Hub on business Saturday. Herman Ahlers visited his parents at Francesville a few days last week.
