Goodland Gets To Vote.

The Supreme Court handed down its descision Friday in the county seat election case, from Newton County. The case is entitled Kent vs Sigler. When Goodland petitioned for an election for relocation of the Newton county seat, at that town, under the fraudulent 65 per cent, vote law, the county commissioners refused to order the election, on the grounds that the law required the petition must be filed within a

year from the |ime the law took effect. The case was appealed to the circuit courtand Judge Thompson reversed the commissioners and ordered the election held. Kentland parties appealed to the Supreme Court, and the decision affirms Judge Thompson’s. The court does not pass upon the constitutionality of the law, but says that the act does not limit the time for filing petitions for election to one year from the' time it took effect. This decision will give Goodland a chance for the county seat if 65 per oent. of voters of Newton county vote in its favor. ,
