Telephone Meeting at Mt. Ayr.

The Farmers’ Mutual telephone meeting at Mt. Ayr, Monday night, called by Wm, Halstead and James Yeoman, bad a good attendance. Mr. Halstead io an address of considerable length, explained the purpose had in view, in calling the meeting. It is desired to adopt in this portion of Indiana the same system that is found to be successful in other places, namely for farmers around the small towns to have their own telephone systems, centering in those towns; where the different systems will have an exchange. Interested observers of what was said and done at the meeting, were Messrs Thompson and Montgomery, of the Jasper Co Telephone Company, J. F. Bruner, of the Halleck Telephone Company, and Warren Washburn, of the Goodland telephone exchange.
