Been Bucking Board of Trade.
Several Rensselaer men have been “bucking the Board of Trade” quite heavily for some time past, according to common report. Most of them, probably actuated by the same old motive, of “making back what they lost” on some previous occasion. One man is said to have quit some $750 ahead of the game,—-if he did quit. Another was s§oo or S9OO ahead but thought he had better hang on until he made it an even SI,OOO and so he hung on till his SBOO or so was all gone and he was SIOO or eb in the hole. Still another man is said to have been way ahead at one time, but held on until he lost it all again, but was only $75 in the hole. Others have been investing, with varying degrees of fortune, but as a general rule, more money is lost than made in that business
A treat is in store Friday afternoon for all lovers of music and poetry. It is the >occasion of one of Mrs. Ruby Stephenson’s Browning lectures, and a musical program has been arranged by way of diversion. The meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. J. H.
