The Knox Tragedy.

Henry Clements, of Knox, who shot and killed bis former sweetheart, Mrs. Edward Davis, as noted in Wednesday evening’s Republican will recover. Later developments show that the husband witnessed the awful deed but was unable to prevent the tragedy. Thr eats of lynching th e prisoner has caused the sheriff of Starke county to take extra precautions to prevent any such action. Several rambling and incoherent letters found in Clements’ pocket after the shooting, written on the presumption that he would be dead when they were found. They are all of similar tenor, warning girls of the danger of trifling with men’s affections.
