MISSISSIPPI FROZEN OVER.

Solid Stretch of Ice from Cairo to St. Paul, 900 Milea in Length. The Mississippi river is frozen over. For the first time since February, 1898, there is n coat of ice on the river at St Louis, which averages about four Inches in thickness, but there are many uncertain spots in it, and rirermen consider it extremely dangerous. There is a stretch of solid, smooth ice from Cairo, 111., to St. Paul, Minn., a distance of •ver 900 miles.
