The Rariden vs. Rariden divorce* oase, filed here Wednesday, on change of venue from White county, promises to be one of the most interesting and hard-fought divoroe cases tried here in a long time, judging at least from the financial interests involved. The evidence, if it fellows the line of the complaint, will be very sensational, and the attorneys will be among the ablest to be had, Hanly & Wood, of Lafayette, being the attorneys for the plaintiff. The plaintiff is Mrs. Esther B. Rariden, the defendant, Elliot Rariden. They were married Mar. 2nd, 1899 and separated May 15tb, of the seme year. When they were married she was a widow with two young children. JTbey lived on the defendant’s good farm near Brookston, bat since they separated, she haslived in a small boned in Brookston. She alleges that she is a small delicate woman, be a great bulk of a man; and that he was very cruel and inhuman towards her, in ways not necessary to speoify, and finally drove ber from his house. It is stated that be has a farm worth 99,000 and personal property worth $2,000, and from which he derives a large income. Therefore she asks for a divoroe and alimony to the amoant of SBOO per year. She had no obildren by this marriage.
