Dr. I. B, Washburn went to Chioago this morning, accompanied by his daughter Lena. He will, fn a few days, have another operation - performed for the liver or stomach trouble whioh has so greatly impaired hie health for a number of years past, and whioh was considerably benefitted by an operation about two years ago. Dr. Nicholas Seen, the ex-sargeon general, and one of the moat celebrated surgeons of the present day, will perform thisooming operation. It will take plaoe at the Presbyterian hospital.

Mrs. Nora Norman, husband and" 1 children, of Rensselaer, enjoyed a turkey dinner with her mother, Mrs. J. Casey Xmas. A number of our young people enjoyed a fine time socially Xmas evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Mundon. Mrs. Nora Davidson and Iva Alter went to Watseka Saturday. Mrs. Scott Harrington, of DeMotte, visited her parents Mr. and Mrs. F. Fry, several days last year, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Kight, of Thayer, were the guests of Isaac Kight and wife Thursday n'ght. Miss Edna Brady, of Chicago, spent several days last week with with her sister, Mrs. P. Nelson. Wm. Spry, wife and son, ofi Momence, were guests of his sister, Mrs. Isaac Kight over Sunday. The infant child of John Akers was burned at Pleasant Grove cemetery Sunday, A telegram was reoeived Sunday from Lebanon, Ind., stating that Mn. Parker’s father was dead.
