She makes the best bread in the town, Her pies are a perfect delight, Her coffee a rich golden brown, Her crullers and puddings just right. But then, while I eat them, she tells Of the care and the worry they bring, Of the martyr-like toils she endures, O, she’s such a fidgety thing! \ My house is neat as a pin—- * You should see how the door-handles . shine— And all of the soft-cushioned chairs And nicely swept floors are mine.
