Motors for Fire Engines.

The first town in England to do away with horses at the fire stations is Eccles. Mayor F. Smith has supplied the engine houses with powerful little mo tors, which were proved successful in every way. The engine carries five men, four ladders, 300 yards of hose, two standpipes and other appliances. It is driven by a seven horse power double cylinder water cooler engine fitted with variable Ignition.
