Arthur Grissom, the well-known author, died In New York. He was formerly a resident of Independence, Mo., and was editor of the Smart Set, a monthly magazine, at the time of his death. It is now almost certain that lx,rd Dudley will succeed Lord Cadogan as viceroy of Ireland, says a Dublin correspondent. This puts an end to the rumors that the Duke of Marlborough would receive the post. The establishment in Rome of an American library has been ordered by royal decree. The library will contain all publications relating to the New World since its discovery. A disaptch from Rio Janeiro, Brazil, says: “Maria Luisa, a negress, 160 years old, is dead.
