Some Very Cold Weather.

Lowest temperature Saturday, 4 degrees below zero. Lowest temperature Sunday, 15 degrees below zero. Highest temperature Sunday 1 degree below zero. From an early hour Saturday morning until 9 o’olock this, Monday morning, the weather here remaining below zero, as shown by the U. S. thermometers, the only absolutely reliable ones in town. The lowest cold reached, 15 below zero, was sometime Saturday night or Sunday morning, as shown by the registering minimum thermometer. At 7 Sunday morning it was 13 below. The lowest peached Sunday night and Monday morning was 9 below. Monday at 7 a. m. it was 6 below. This present cold spell is the severest for Decembersince records have been kept in Chicago. We suspect that it is even longer than that since there has been so great a drop in temperature in the same length of time. Thus during the 36 hour&fiom noon Fiiday to midnight Saturday, there was a fall of abont 67 degrees. Monday the southerly wind brought milder weatherand at 2p. m. the temperature was 10 above zero.
