NewlandMrs. Chas, Page and child is very sick with lung fever. Wm. Collins and wife visited friends in Rensselaer Sunday. W. N. Jordan and wife were in Rensselaer Saturday. F. M. Reed of Gifford who has kept a grocery there for over a year Sold out to a Mr. Harmon of Toto who will take possession Deo. 11th, 1901. Earl Newland sold his horse and buggo to John Burris of Lewiston. Earl will go to Ada Ohio to spend the winter. Thurman Smith has gone to Arkansas to look up a location for his saw mill; if he likes the country he will move there. We seem to be in it this ypar with corn huskers. Sim Maroon husked and hauled to Newland, weighed and scooped his own corn 99 bushels and 60 lbs, hauled it over a J mile in less than ten hours. Who can beat that? Rev. O. F. Jordan of Rookford, 111., who has been preaching here for a week returned to his home Saturday.
