Pat O'Dea Was Hurt.
The following special appeared in most of the Chicago paper Thursday: Notre Dame, lad., Dec.4—Coach Pat O’Dea of the Notre Dame foot ball team, the famous “kangaroo” kicker of Wisconsin, who played foot ball for six years, suffered his first serious injury Monday. He was playing full back on the South Bend athletic team against the Rensselaer Athletic Club and in hurdling was violently throjva, striking bis right shoulder and splintering the shoulder blade and seriously bruising the muscles of shoulder and upper arm. If O’Dea weub hurt as seriously as the above would indicate, he must have received the injury when he hit the ground after Parcels’ famous tackle. Pat is a fine fellow and everyone here will wish him a speedy recovery. He showed no evidence after the game, of any serious injury.
