Danford’s Application Rejected.

The application of Charles Danford for a license to keep a saloon in the Maloy brick building, on Main street, near the depot, shared the fate of several previous applicants, in the third ward. Namely it was defeated by a remonstrance signed by a majority of the legal voters of the ward. There were 112 names on the remonstrance, of whom seven withdrew, leaving 105 The number required was 98. Danford’s bad break Saturday evening would have beaten him, had there been no remonstrance.
