Rensselaer Semi-Weekly Republican, Volume 34, Number 26, Rensselaer, Jasper County, 29 November 1901 — The Status of The Price Case. [ARTICLE]

The Status of The Price Case.

No application has yet been made for the reception of Thomas Price at the insane asylum. The proceedings so far taken in his case have been under a different status from the ordinary insanity proceedings, made necessary by the fact that criminal acts were alleged. Under the method so far proceeded with his case must again be tried by a jury in the circuit courif before application can be made for his reception at the asylum. It is intended, however, to not pursue this method any further, but to give him an ordinary insanity examination, and thus shorten and simplifiy the proceedings. It is also intended to ask that a guardian be appointed to take charge of the unfortunate man’s property.
