The box social at the Lee school house last Saturday was a pleasant affair. Mr. Scott Robinson of McCoysburg acted as auctioneer and disposed of the boxes in a satisfactory manner realizing something over ten dollars. A portion of the money will be used to purchase new supplies for the library and the remainder will be used to apply to the salary of the minister at this point. Mr. and Mrs, Phil Bush of Brookston spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Sam Jacks. Chas. Pope spent most of last week in Chicago. Roy Matthews of Brookston accompanied by Dean Smith visited with D. E. Noland and family*and incidently attend the box social last Saturday evening. Charles Whitaker of Barkley tp. was in Lee Sunday. E. Gilmore accompanied a load of cattle to Chicago last week. The recent rains have caused a lull in the hay business at this point, but there are still several hundred tons to be disposed of. James Orcutt of Hammond is visiting friends and relatives at this point this week. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Rishling and little daughter visited with Mr. Rishling’s mother Mrs. Jennie Rishling over Sunday. Frank is a popular conductor on the Monon. Mr. and Mrs. Nelse Madison invited several friends to dinner last Tuesday.
