Newland. Gerald Gifford is on the sick list. James Russell is getting along very slowly with his foot which he cut last week. Wm. Poisel and Mr. Ballard of Medaryville were here on business last week. Geo. Buck is building another double corn crib here, 135 feet lon g for Mr. Gifford. Mr. Collins and family of near Valma were guests of Wm. Collins and family here Saturday. Harry Gifford shipped a car of potatoes to Evansville Saturday. Fred Germain was in Rensselaer on business Friday. Miss Mabel Caster is on the sick list. Miss Mamie Ahlers visited Miss Nora Baker Sunday. Dutch Pass of Gillam attended Sunday School here Sunday. Earl Newland was at Rensselaer Friday. The shooting match here Saturday was well attended. Sam English took with him 10 turkeys, E. Brown was a close second with 9 to his credit, Everett Pullins was third with 7, gross receipts $573.90 turkeys won 53-
