THURSDAY—Continued.
Loyd Jessen, the prompt messenger boy for the Western Union , here, is now uniformed after the method of city messenger boys, namely with blue coat, trousers and cap, trimmed in red braid. The suit is very becoming and adds greatly to the dignity of the position. Hon. and Mrs. U. Z. Wiley, of Indianapolis, arrived last evening, and are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Hanley, and will attend Judge Thompson’s Thanksgiving banquet, this noon. Judge Wiley still occupies his place on the appellate court bench with honor to himself and great benefit to the people, and is sure to be again renominated, if he is willing to accept another term. Arthur H. and Alfred W. Hop-
kins came down last evening for a Thanksgiving visit with their numerous relatives here. r>. Arthur, by the way, is now an honest tiller of the soil, although all tilling, he does is to watch-«4Fe cutting and marketing of his big hay crop, and put the money in his till. He has bought a 1000 acre hay ranch in Vilas county, Wis. and has just returned from a protracted stay there. He expects to remain on the farm hereafter, and will make extensive improvements the coming year.
