In answer to an inquiry from Indianapolis, Wm. Loeb, jr. assistant secretary to President Roosevelt, writes that the president’s name is pronounced in 3 syllables with the two first oo’s sounded like one long o and the i ia the middle short, like this “Rose i velt.”
