Hanging Grove. Mrs. Iselman has returned home after a month’s visit among friends in 111. Ed Randle’s little boy, Walter is sick with a bad cold. Several of the neighbors assembled at Mr. Drakes last Wednesday afternoon, and helped raise his fine new barn. Wash Cook is head carpenter and had done some fine work in the neighborhood this season. Saturday was Uncle Stacy English’s eightieth birthday. He is visiting his daughters, Mrs. Lute Hemphill and Mrs. Joseph Rowen in Rensselaer, while his son. Milroy, is building a new addition to their house. Some of tfie turkeys in this community are moving away in the night, to get away before Thanksgiving. Some young men I know seem to be getting ready to go into business for themselves next season, I wonder why there is such a demand for carpet rags? Pearl Burson has returned to Valparaiso, where she is continuing her studies under the instructions of Professor Clark, in the musical department of that school. Mr. Maxwell, Will Styers and several of the men of the community have finished husking corn. Others will soon finish and some are wishing a fodder shredder would come in the neighborhood.
