Dora Wickwire Gets Damages.
The attorney for the Chicago & Alton railroad was in Goodland Friday of last week and effected a settlement with N. C. Wiokwire for damages received by Dora in the wreck near Kansas City last summer. They gave Dora a check for $5,350, and she is entitled to every cent of it, The company offered F. D. Gilman $4,500, but he refused it, demandig $5,000, the amount usually granted in the courts where suit is brought. The attorney told Fred that it would cost him SSOO to collect it, and the latter informed him that if it did he would at least have the satisfaction of giving it to his own attorney instead of the railroad. — Goodland Herald.
