Old Saturn is Sulky.
Venus, Jupiter and Saturn are now close together in the southwestern sky, every evening. Venus and Jupiter seem to be “shining up to each other” for all they are worth, but old Saturn, appreciating the fact that he has no show for winning the fair Venus’s favor against his younger and brighter rival, seems to be very much in the dumps. He is sulky and sour and shines but dimly. If Mars now, was in Saturn’s place he would make things interesting for Jupiter, in the race for lady Venus’s favor. Well, old man Saturn has this thought to comfort him anyhow: It is only once in 1200 years on the average that his rare meetings with Venus are spoiled by Jupiter’s superior attractions.
