A Verdict of Justifiable Cussing.

Omer Morlan, west of town, had a trial before Squire Churchill, Saturday morning, on the charge of provoke, made by his neighbor, Wm. Moore, According to the evidence Mr. Moore borrowed a gravel bed and shovel of Mr. Morlan. The shovel when borrowed was able-bodied and in the prime of life. The one that was returned was aged, weak-backed and in a general state of decrepitude. Omer went over after his rightful shovel and then is when the trouble occurred. The Squire held that what Mr. Morlan did and said was no more than he himself would do and say under the same circumstances, and he promptly acquitted him.
