Gillam and the Oil Fields.
These cold nights did no little damage to piping. The N. Y. Oil Co. will lose about 700 feet of their pipes. Miss Rebecca Rayburn one of the most estimable young ladies of Medaryville formerly of Gillam will leave today (Tuesday) for Des Moines, lowa, where she will meet her affianced, Mr. Charles McGath and be married. Her future heme will be in Walnut lowa, With many regrets her old school mates part with her, but we wish her all the happiness this life can afford. Miss Lucy Swisher of Kewanna visited relatives and friends in Gillam. Mr. Hamilton Record has built a new front to his house, which adds to the appearance to his farm and surrounding country. Mrs. Smith left Saturday for Chicago where she will visit a brother and sister. The Christian Help Society of West Vernon will give a box social next Thursday evening Nov. 7th.
