A Farewell Surprise Party.

A complete surprise to Rev. A. L, Ward and Mrs. Ward was arranged by the members of the Christian church and successfully carried out at the residence of J. H. Cox Tues. night where Mr. and Mrs. Ward were being entertained. The congregation and friends to the number of a hundred or more filed into the house wholly unexpected to Mr. and Mrs. Ward, and a very pleasant evening was spent in social conversation etc. At the close of which the popular pastor and wife were presented with a handsome set of silver knives and forks as a slight token of the love and esteem in which they are held by the membership and frieuds of the churoh, and as a rememberanoe of the oooasion. The presentation was made through W- H. Coover as spokesman, to whioh Mr. and Mrs. Ward both very feelingly responded.
