Rensselaer Semi-Weekly Republican, Volume 34, Number 18, Rensselaer, Jasper County, 1 November 1901 — Fined For Defiling Room. [ARTICLE]
Fined For Defiling Room.
An elderly man who gave his name as Wm. A. Ross was fined |4 and costs, $14.45 in all, by Squire Burnham, this morning. Be claimed to be one of Massachusett’s ,f culchad” sons but evinces none of New England’s polish either in words or works. Instead he left his room at the Nowels House in a worse shape than would a wild and woolly western hog, and then some, and that is what he was fined for He was sent to jail to lay out the fine. He was not drunk and the Squire thinks that a rest-up in jail was the end he had in view.
