Pleasant Grove Shooting Contest
The shooting match at Pleasant Grove Wednesday afternoon was attended by a large number of good shots, and was a very enjoyable event. Everett Brown, the manager, conducted the affair to the eminent satisfaction of all the contestants. There were about 30 participants in the different events, and the greater number figured in the divison of money when the shoot .was over. The medal shoot at 25 blue rocks was contested by 12 marksmen, nine of them being from Jasper and three from Pulaski county. The shoofiug in this event was not up to tbe standard of earlier events. Emmett Pullin won the medal and Ist money by breaking 20 out of a possible 25, Ellis Rees and Frank Rice, of Francesville and Dick Caldwell, of Barkley tp., each broke 19 and Everett Brown and Sam English each broke 18. For the entire day’s shoot Everett Brown made the best percent, 84|. Several other ordinarily good shots ranked in percent as follows: Emmett Pullins 81|, Frank Nichols 80, Sam Engiish 77, Frank Rice 72, Frank Leek 71, Ellis Rees 64. The medal is a very handsome affair, and is the one John King, Rensselaer’s old crack shot, won in the six county meet at Morocco three years ago. It is a mounted S2O gold piece, with a hunter and dog engraved thereon, and originally cost $35. Pullin is entitled to hold it for one year, when it is subject to challenge
