And It Was Cold Tea.
A man in a buggy drove into the timber adjoining a grove in which an old settlers’ meeting was being held, over in Montgomery county, a few days ago. He tied his horse and joined the men exhibiting half pint bottles containing a suspicious looking fluid, remarking, “I have got a fine quality of tea here” emphasizing the re■uaark with a wink. In a short time he had sold the buggy load. The purchasers went out behind trees and took a hearty drink and much to their surprise found that it was cold tea. They had the fellow arrested for obtaining money under false pretenses but the justice could not see it that way and turned the fellow loose.—Veedersburg News.
