A Transaction in Horses.
There was a series of brilliant transactions in horses, at Remington, Saturday. Warren Bullis, of Jordan Tp., or formerly of that place, traded a team of horses, buggy and harness, to Lewis Harris, for. a watch and $5 in money. The watch Harris had bought the same day for $3, but it being in a chamois skin case, he made Bullis believe it was worth S3O. Bullis claimed to have traded for the team and outfit with a man 3 miles west of Rensselaer. The same day Harris sold the whole turnout to another Harris, Tom by name, for S6O. This transaction was hardly ended before the arrival of a livery stable keeper from Milford, 111, who identified the team and buggy and took possession of them. Lewis Harris and Bullis were both arrested, but Harris was released the same night. Bullis gave bail for his appearance when needed. The bail was S3OO and was furnished by Jack Hudson, of west Jordan. Bullis, if he is ever tried will have to be taken to Iroquois Co., 111. where the livery rig came from.
