The State Institutions.
The latest bu'lelin of the Board of State Chari:i s issued today, shows there has been an increase in the number of inmates at each of the insane hospitals of the State, at the School for FeebleMinded Youth, at Fort Wayne, at the StAe Prison at Michigan City, and the Reform School for Boys, at Plainfield. A decrease is noted at the State Soldiers’ Home, at, Lafayette, the Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Orphans Home, at Knightstown, at the Institution for the Deaf, in Indianapolis, and at the the Indiana Reformatory, at Jeffsonville. The bulletin covers nine months, ending July 31. The figures show that during this period the State institutions cost the State $1,048,966 27 for regular running expenses and $186,589.39 for constructive and extraordinary repairs, a total of $1,235,555.66. '
