The City Council.
The sale of 10 Weston cemetery lots was reported and approved. C. D. Nowels was given a permit to erect a coal shed in the rear of Laßue Bros’, store. Granville Moody, R. B. Harris, C. D, Nowels and Moses Tuteur were appointed city commissioners in place of 4of the 5 recently appointed who declined to qualify. The city engineer reported the improvement of River street completed according to specifications and at a total cost of $4460.25. The City Commissioners were ordered to meet Oct. 21st to ascertain what property owners are-benefitted by the improvement of River, Forest and Merrett streets respectively, and make report of same. Property owners on River street ask that Washington street where it approaches the bridge be improved to correspond with River street. Action deferred until a later meeting. Fourteen firemen present at the burning of Bert Brenner’s barn were each allowed $1.50. Some 62 claims aggregating about $1,200 were allowed, See Dr, Merrill, over Moody & Roth’s meat market.
