Rensselaer Semi-Weekly Republican, Volume 34, Number 14, Rensselaer, Jasper County, 18 October 1901 — A Religious Poll of the Entire State. [ARTICLE]
A Religious Poll of the Entire State.
A religious poll of the entire state of Indiana will be taken on the last Friday of October under the direction of the State Sunday School association. It is the first such a work was ever carried out in Indiana. A decision to take the poll was reached at the last state convention, held at Shelb}'ville, and is an effort to increase Sunday school attendance. The work will be done by townships, which will be subdivided into districts. District managers will select persons to take polls in described territory. Results of the poll in small divisions will be reported to the district manager, who will in turn report to those above him.
