A Pink and White Wedding.
The first of Rensselaer’s three j weddings of last Wednesday, 1 ; Oct. 16th, 1901 took place at 1:301 p. m. at the residence of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Harris, on Kannal Street. The contracting parties were their oldest daughter, Miss Cedella Harris and Mr. Oren F. Parker. The bride’s dress was white silk betese over white silk taffeta, and she carried a bouquet of white roses. She was attended by her sister, Miss Mildred Harris, as maid of honor, in white Persian lawn and carrying white and pink roses. Mr. Ed. Arnold, of Wataeka 111., was the groom’s “best man.” Rev. J. L. Brady performed the wedding ceremony, and Miss Virginia Stamm of Hammond played the wedding march and Mr. Harris gave the bride away. The decorations throughout were pink and white The dining room all in pink and white ribbons, ro3es and lighted with pink and white candles. Refreshments mostly in the same color. The out of town guests were Miss Bertha Anderson, of Sheldon, 111.. Miss Virginia Stamm, of Hammond, Mr. F. L. Trout, of Chicago and Mr. Ed. Arnold, of Watseka, 111. The wedding presents were numerous and elegant. The most notable being the following: Mr. and Mrs. Frank Parker, parents of the groom a check for S2OO. Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Harris, parents of the bride a fine piano. Miss Dora Wickwire, of Goodland, a Mexican drawn centerpiece. Toe newly married couple left for Chicago on the 3.27 train that afternoon, in which city they will make their residence and where Mr. Parker has a responsible position in Marshall Field & Co.’s great wholesale store.
