More Sales North and Northeast.
And still the farms in Jasper county continue to be sold to the Illinois men. The latest reported is the Greenbnry Thornton farm, in Barkley Tp., a few miles northeast of Rensselaer. This sale was closed up Saturday to Isaac Lemna, of Dwight, 11l The farm contains 90 aores and the price is $5,000, or $55.55 per acre; but Mr. Thornton is to retain the farm for another year, without charge. C. A. Dean negotiated the sale. Another farm north of town was sold somo weeks ago, but had not heretofore been made publio. R. T. Newman has sold his 106 acres, three miles north, to Wm. Baker who lives in town, but already had very extensive land interests north of town. The price was S6O per acre. Mr. Newman intends moving away but has notj fully decided as to his future location. He will make a big publio sale on Nov. stb. Mr. Baker has rented the farm to Clarence Maxwell.
