Voting Population of Indiana.
The sexennial enumeration of voters of the state just tabulated by the auditor of the state, shows an increase of 67,274 over the enumeration taken in 1895. The enumeration of the voters is taken every six years by the township trustees, whose reports are corrected by the county auditors, and reported to the Auditor of the State, who has the enumeration printed. Jasper county has 3,874 and in 1895 had 3,350, an increase of 424 in the 6 years. We had 6 colored voters in 1895 and have only 4 in 1901. The inorease in the voters in Marion county is 12,251. Other counties also show an inorease that it is thought will give them additional representation in the Leg islature. Madison oounty, it is expected, will undoubtedly get another Representative, and Vigo oounty may get another. The greatest increase is shown by Marion, Madison, St. Joseph, Delaware and Grant. The whole inorease of the white voters is 65,324, while that of the oolored voters is 1,950. Eight counties have no oolored voters, Adams, Brown, Noble, Porter, Pulaski, Starke, Steuben and Washington.
