John Spies, a merchant of Boswell, Benton Co., is now a large real-estate owner in Rensselaer and surrounding country. Hey hts just bought of John Poole the Mayo farm, in Milroy tp , for $6,500, and of the same owner a quarter section in Newton county and the former Jack Knight property in Leopold’s addition Rensselaer, for $6,800, and of Amzi LaRue the former Jerry Sohofield property, in Riverside Park, Rensselaer for $2,500. All told Mr. Spies purchases here amount to $15,000.
