More Land Sales.
And atilt the sales of farms in the vicinity of Rensselaer go on. Another that has just been consummated is that of the Wm. Leek farm, some miles north west of town. The purchaser is T. F. Dunlap a hardware dealer, of Ellsworth, 111. There are 245 acres in the farm and the price was $65 per acre. Mr. Leek bought it 6 years ago, at SSO per acre. Still another land sale in Marion tp. is the W. E. Baker place, the old Billy Reed place, 2| miles south of town. It is sold to George C. Gray, of Pax 100, 111. The price is $45 per acre and it consists of 163 acres. There is much good land in the farm and the seemingly low price is due to the fact that the Big Slough runs through it and over-flows a considerable] portion every year. C. A. Dean negotiated both these sales, as also the sale of J. E. Clary’s place, the former Burk farm, previously mentioned.
