Application for License. Notice is hereby given to the citizens of the Town of Gifford and of Barkley township, in Jasper county, Indiana, that the undersigned, a male inhabitant of the State of Indiana, over the age of twenty-one years, of good moral character, and a man who is not in the habit of becoming intoxicated, and has been a continuous resident of said town and township for over ninety days last past, and who is in respect to all legal qualifications and requirements. a fit ana proper person to be intrusted with the sale of intoxicating liquors, and will be the actual owner and proprietor of said retail liquor business if license be granted him, will apply to the Board of Commissioners of said Oounty of Jasper, State of Indiana, at their October term, 1901, at the Commissioners’ Court Room, in the Court House, in the Oity of Rensselaer, in said county, for q license to sell and barter spirituous, vinous, malt and all other intoxicating liquors, in a less quantity than a quart at a time, and also in lees quantities than five gallons at a time, with a privilege of allowing the same to be drank on the premises where sold and bartered. The location of the premises where said apSlicant desires to conduct said liquor business i a one story frame building fronting on Main street in the town of Gifford, in Jasper county, Indiana: the precise location of said premises is more particularly described as follows, to-wit: The Mid building is located on Lot twelve (12), in Block one (1), in the original Pl** the Town of Gifford, in said Oounty and State. The southwest corner of said building being five (6) feet east and and eight (8) feet north of the southwest corner of said lot and running thence north a distance of twenty-sox (26) feet, and thence east a distance cant.a distance of sixteen (16) feet, and thence south a distance of twenty-six (26) feet, and thence west a distance of sixteen (16) feet to the place of beginn said described room is separate and apart from any other business of any kind or character and has no devices for amusement or music within or about said room. The said building fronts south on said Main street, having two windows and one door in the south side thereof, and one door in the north end thereof. The said room and building can be securely closed and locked and admission thereto prevented, and is so arranged with glass windows that the whole interior of said room may be viewed from said street.
