GIFFORD AND NEWLAND.

Mr. Louis Shell of McOoysburg was a Newland visitor Sunday. Art Akers called on Miss Blanche Blake Sunday. The excursion to St. Joe Mich Sunday was not very well patronized. Laßue Bros, will open a branch store at Gifford one day this week. Dee Dunfee returned from Winamac Friday wh»re he had been starting a saw mill which he purchased of Thurman Smith. John Wateon of Gil lam passed through here Saturday on his way to Rensselaer to attend the old settlers meeting. Wm. Hickman conductor on the C. W. V. will go to Illinoisjon a visit this week, it will be the first vacation he has taken in the past three years. There will be an entertainment at Gifford, Friday Sept. 20, consisting of music and oratory, given by Miss Roe Denn&son and Prof. Perkins Admission 15 and 25 cents.
