Why the Lights Blink Out.
A good many users of oity electric lights wonder why the lights suddenly blink out and then as suddenly blink in again, about 7 o’clock .every night, and then repeat the same specialty performance,^“about 9 o’clook. The explanation is simple. Until the first blink out, the lights are all run on the big new~dynamo. By thkt time the load gets too heavy and the lights are turned off for a second or two, long enough to bring the old and smaller dynamo, into aotioa. Both dynamos are then in service until about 9, when so many business and house lights are turned off that both are nd » longer needed; and the big one is then put out of service for the night The reason why the bigdynomo ie out out then instead of the old one is to get rid of'the very wearisome humming the big maohine makes in running. It is an excellent maohine, but its humming is a very serious detriment.
